WORLD HERITAGE CRUISES

THE CRUISE
The vessel departs Strahan and passes through Hells Gates, the entrance to Macquarie Harbour, then visits a trout and salmon farm enroute to Sarah Island, Tasmania's first convict settlement. A stopover of one hour is provided and the passengers can explore the history as the entertaining guided tour weaves a story around the ruins. Travel the Gordon River to Heritage Landing, where passengers disembark once more for a walk into the rainforest, the highlight of which is a 2000 year old Huon Pine tree. Views of the mountains and features of the World Heritage Area are enhanced by a thorough commentary on all aspects of the area's history, ecology and geology.

THE OPERATORS
The Grining family pioneered cruises to the Gordon River in 1896. Five generations and 100 years on, the tradition of friendly and personal service continues. Old fashioned service, new-age technology, and ancient landscape combine to make it... a day to remember.
  THE GALLEY
Fresh Tasmanian food is prepared daily on board, and is available from our licensed bar and galley throughout the day at very moderate prices. Smorgasbord - comprises of smoked salmon, beef, ham, selection of salads, cheese, fruit platters and fresh bakery bread.
