CENTRAL HIGHLANDS LODGE

The Central Highlands Lodge is located on the shores of the Great Lake in the highland village of Miena, 'Gateway' to Tasmania's central plateau and world premier trout fishing waters with around 3000 lakes. It is the most centrally located lodge to the famous fisheries of the Western Lakes, Arthurs Lakes, Penstock and Little Pine lagoons, all of which hold an abundance of wild brown trout. The scenic drive from Launceston or Hobart is around 1.5 hours.
The lodge is located centrally to all of Tasmania, wherever you are or want to go, we are not far away.

After a hearty breakfast, set off and enjoy the crisp mountain air and pristine waters of the trout lakes. The lodge will be happy to recommend the best spots to see or fish. For the best fishing results, you are advised to hire a professional fishing guide - complete with equipment, transport and a picnic lunch. There is a private fishing lake full of wild brown trout just for you to try your hand at.
If you are not into fishing, the lodge supplies an itinerary for those wishing to explore Tasmania's mountainous plateau and surrounding regions.

Take a daytrip to various locations including a tour of local golf courses. Join the evening eco-spotlighting tour or simply relax in the lounge.
In the evening, relax in comfort by roaring log fires and dine in the restaurant, enjoy a hearty meal of Tasmanian delicacies prepared by the chef and sample some of the best wines Tasmania has to offer whilst exchanging stories with other guests and some local personalities.
Accompanied by soft music and a warm friendly atmosphere this makes for a very enjoyable Tasmanian experience.
