Chris and Janette welcome you to stay at their waterfront hideaway, nature retreat and cattle property, near Stanley, in north-west Tasmania. Here guests can enjoy first class self catering  accommodation, private access to a secluded beach and a very relaxing, safe place to unwind.

Choose from a spacious 3 bedroom spa lodge in a seaside garden setting; an environmentally designed ecocabin, or a luxury nature cabin, just for two, sited on the sand dunes overlooking the sea.

The well-heated lodge has one single and two double bedrooms and caters for 5 guests. A fully-equipped kitchen adjoins the lounge/dining area and small sun room. Guests can utilize the two outside decks, one for alfresco dining and a separate deck overlooking the beach.

The two, stunning, contemporary-style, studio ecocabins, for couples only, each have one double bedroom, an en-suite bathroom with shower and a kitchen with adjoining lounge/dining area. A large porthole window with leather seating is a wonderful place to relax and observe the native wildlife. Huon pine doors open onto a timber deck with magnificent ocean views.

Two unique, one bedroom, luxury nature cabins, have recently been created for couples. Sited amongst the sand dunes overlooking the ocean, both cabins feature European appliances, dishwashers, reverse cycle heating and air-conditioning.

Superb designer-made furniture of rare, rainforest timbers, Huon pine and myrtle, are a feature. Guests staying in the spacious, one bedroom cabin, have the added advantage of experiencing superb water views from a heated spa pool, sited on an elevated dune.

For disabled guests, there is a fully independent accessible bathroom which is separate from all accommodation, which have varying degrees of accessibility and facilities. The spa lodge has a level entry; ecocabins are wheelchair friendly with ramps; nature cabins have entry steps.

On property activities include: fishing (tackle hire nearby), swimming, beach combing, oyster harvesting, nature walks, bird watching or inspecting the Maine Anjou beef cattle herd with your hosts.

Nearby activities include two golf courses, wildlife tours and river cruises. Craft shops, including the Stanley Artworks - a fine furniture and art gallery, the Nut chair lift, historic Highfield House and the Sea Aquarium are all situated nearby. An ecotourism attraction, Tarkine Forest Adventures at Dismal Swamp near Smithton, has a sunken blackwood forest, treetop lookout and an interpretation centre.

Beachside Retreat is a 40 minute drive from the Burnie Airport at Wynyard and 90 minutes from the Bass Strait Ferry Terminal at Devonport.
