BARNBOUGLE DUNES
|
To play Barnbougle Dunes is to step back in time. There are no carts - and nor should there be. There are also no distance markers. As a compromise, there's a small fleet of caddies and a comprehensive yardage book is available. |

| The nascent layout is a melange of voluptuous dunes, sandy waste and wispy rough - a site seemingly destined to one day become a golf course. The same blend of fescue grass extends from tee to green, and there's fantastic, dramatic movement in it's bumpy fairways and rolling greens. This is best exemplified by the outward nine, which plays through a series of saddles that both shelter and direct play lines. The back nine is more open but arguably more striking with panoramas of the course, adjoining bay and town of Bridport in the distance. |
The accommodation at Barnbougle is set amongst the dunes, surrounded by the challenging golf course, with some cottages offering views across the bay to the township of Bridport. The simple two room layout of the cottages is separated by the bathroom. Each cottage has either a queen bed in either room or 2 king single beds in each.
Cottages are set close together in a single row. |
