THE HENRY JONES ART HOTEL
|
The Henry Jones is Australia's first and only dedicated Art Hotel. Standing on Hobart's waterfront where Europeans first settled 200 years before, a former jam factory dating from the 1820's has been transformed into an enthralling first class hotel showcasing the work of Tasmania's finest visual artists. Designed by award-winning architects, the Hotel itself is a work of art where you'll be fascinated by the unexpected combination of the antique and the ultra modern. From the original staircase, to restored machinery, and the magnificent all-glass Atrium - The Henry Jones bears fascinating influences of a rich trading history between India, China, and this former British Empire colony. |
All rooms feature natural timber furnishings, trapeze lighting, a lavish king size bed with exotic silk covers and ottomans. All rooms have sumptuously equipped white and translucent glass bathrooms, complimented by robust sandstone walls.
Most rooms have harbour views, while others overlook the Atrium and reveal glimpses of the old jam factory interior. Each room has a quality flat screen TV/DVD, and high speed internet connectivity. Guest rooms and public spaces exhibit original artworks which are available for purchase and a catalogue of the entire collection is provided in every room. |
