TASMAN ISLAND WILD & RUGGED
(formerly SEALIFE EXPERIENCE TASMANIA)

Tasman Island Wild & Rugged! Unforgettable eco tour amazing wildlife spectacular seacaves.

Tasman Island Wild & Rugged

As the marine environment is so rich in nutrients, the waters of the Tasman National Park are one of the few places in Australia where such an abundance of wildlife, including rare and endangered species, can be seen. See some of the magnificent creatures with which we share our planet; seals, dolphins, whales, albatross, penguins sea eagles and so much more.

Australian and New Zealand fur seals work, rest and play for the majority of their year on the 'haul outs' of Cape Hauy, Cape Pillar and Tasman Island. The tour also encompasses the migratory path of the Humpback and Southern Right whales. The crew take you to Tasman Island (a lightstation), steeped in natural and human history. Craig (skipper) is the son of one of Tasmania's last kerosene light keepers, and has first hand experience living on several light stations.

Seacaves and Seacliffs
Hold onto your hats as the skippers manoeuvre the Encounter within touching distance of towering seacliffs (reaching 300m, the highest in Australia) and magnificent seacaves. One of the formations we call 'The Hole in the Rock', can be passed through in good conditions at high speed!
